I have made a site proposal map to show where my initial site location ideas are. I have chose these two areas as on my first visit these areas stood out for me in terms of nature watching. The site proposal 1 is under many trees and tucked away at the top, in a quite rural location unlike site proposal 2, which is located near the pond and aviary, but this location is situated right by a busy road which could be distracting in terms of nature watching. Although, the pond would attract a lot of wildlife despite the noise pollution.
Site proposal 1 is situated at a higher point that site proposal 2, thus becoming an advantage and gaining a view over the vast majority of the park, increasing the wild life seen, I could have a part to look at the wildlife in the lower area within the trees and have a vantage point at the top of the tower to look over the trees and park.
This is a segment taken from a tree trail map, showing me what trees are around site proposal 1, this . could come in to use when coming up with the site location of my observation tower.
Below is a gallery of the tree types around the area.

(27) Black Locust - Deciduous
(21) American Hawthorn - Deciduous
(22) Japanese Red Cedar - Coniferous
There for, the closest tree to this location is the american hawthorn, and this tree is deciduous and will lose its leaves during the winter, making my design much more visible during this time of year.

(5) Weeping Elm - Deciduous
(6) Golden Rain Tree - Deciduous
(7) Blue Pine Tree - Coniferous
There for, all three of these trees are in the area of the location choice, two of these trees will lose their leaves in the winter while 1 will not, this will mean there will be some coverage during the winter time.

I have decided to use site proposal 1, the reasons behind this decision is that;
- It is higher up, gains more views and acts as a vantage point.
- Being in the forest, allows for wildlife.
- Site proposal 2 is rather loud compared to site proposal 1. (Wildlife viewing will be better under quiet conditions)
- It looks over the whole site, creating an experience for user.
- In the forestry, so can create an experience with user and manipulate them, winding in and out of the trees, blocking views until one point.
- Tower will be seen throughout, so will attract the user to come to it and use it.
- After doing the site analysis, it will be in the sunlight, all day long, but at different days, so can use this to my advantage when creating vantage points/openings.
- Can see all aspects of the park, including the Chinese bellower, which i could use as a framed view at the top.
- Not limited to just the wildlife at the pond, and the lower area. Will see all over gaining a greater view of birds when at the top.
